Job Summary:
The Network Load Balancing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network load balancers to ensure high availability and optimal performance for our organization's network infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with the network engineering team to deploy and manage load balancing solutions, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for network optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network load balancing solutions to distribute traffic efficiently across multiple servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Work closely with the network engineering team to gather requirements, analyze network traffic patterns, and design load balancing strategies to meet business needs.
- Configure and manage load balancing devices, such as F5 Big-IP, Citrix NetScaler, or similar platforms, to ensure seamless traffic distribution and failover capabilities.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively identify and resolve network load balancing issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, application developers, and security engineers, to ensure load balancing solutions integrate effectively with other network components.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of load balancing configurations to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in network load balancing, and propose innovative solutions to enhance network performance and reliability.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Load Balancing Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of network load balancing concepts, protocols, and technologies.
- Strong expertise in configuring and managing load balancing devices, such as F5 Big-IP, Citrix NetScaler, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, HTTP, and other network protocols.
- Proficient in network traffic analysis tools, such as Wireshark or tcpdump, to troubleshoot load balancing issues.
- Experience with network security concepts and best practices.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V, and their integration with load balancing solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network load balancing issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications, such as F5 Certified Technology Specialist or Citrix Certified Professional, are a plus.
